Tube cutting machines are widely used in metal pipe processing, but equipment malfunctions are inevitable over time. Among them, **inaccurate cutting length** and **positioning offset** are the two most common headaches for operators. These issues not only waste materials but also affect subsequent assembly accuracy. This article outlines the common causes and solutions.
What to Do When Cutting Length Is Inaccurate?
If your tube cutting machine produces pipes with inconsistent lengths, start by checking the following two components:
1、Check if the front stopper is loose or misaligned.** The front stopper is a critical component for determining cutting length. If it becomes loose or shifts, length deviations will occur. The solution is to tighten the fixing screws and readjust the stopper position according to processing requirements, ensuring firm contact with the pipe. Perform 1-2 test cuts to verify the adjustment.
2、Check if the conductive device has poor contact.** Loose connections or oxidized copper plates on the conductive device can affect signal transmission, indirectly causing unstable lengths. Open the side cover of the tube cutting machine, inspect the connection between the conductive copper plate and spring. Tighten if loose; if the copper plate surface is oxidized, gently polish it with fine sandpaper until smooth.
How to Resolve Positioning Offset?
1、Check if the fixed-length switch is abnormally activated.** If your tube cutting machine keeps cutting continuously after startup, observe whether the "Fixed-Length Switch IN6" indicator on the touchscreen remains green. If it stays green, the fixed-length switch is continuously engaged. Check whether the fixed-length stopper is grounded or if the wire insulation is damaged causing contact.
2、Inspect the fixed-length servo origin switch.** If the servo does not retract during cutting, there may be metal chips on the origin switch causing continuous activation. Simply clean off the chips to restore normal operation.
Daily Maintenance Tips
Keeping the conductive device of your tube cutting machine clean and regularly checking the fastening status of all components can significantly reduce such failures. If the above troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, contact the manufacturer's technical support for further inspection.
